Lo Lo Loafers (in a sing-song voice). That’s how Natalie pronounces anything she’s excited about. It’s adorable.
Anyways … After posting about the Ava Slippers I was determined to find the perfect boy shoes that I could crochet for baby gifts. AND I just found out that my sister is having her first baby boy (woohoo!!) due December 25th so it was perfect timing. Let’s just say he’ll have enough shoes to last him until he’s walking :) As soon as I got the pattern I made the greens ones and fell in love with them and ran to the store and bought more yarn to make the tan ones. I realized I only have girl colored yarns and that it was high time I bulked up my stash with some lovely shades of brown and tan and grey.
I bought this pattern off of Etsy, my go to place to search for new patterns and they are super easy. Now I just need a little boy to model them for me!
The green pair is 0-3 months and the tan/brown is 6-12 months size. You can find more info and a link to the pattern on my Ravelry page.

We’re loading up the moving truck tomorrow morning and moving out on Sunday so wish us luck that everything goes smoothly. I’m hoping to slip in a bit of time somewhere in there to fit in some crocheting on the next project I’ve been working on. Finally something for me!
Yes I know you’ve heard of it.

My favorite things to find on Pinterest are; recipes, crocheting ideas, ways to decorate and organize our new place and gold watches. If you love any of those things too let’s be Pinterest friends :)

I’ve been searching for the perfect baby bootie pattern and I think I’ve finally found it! The Ava Slipper pattern. It’s cute, easy, and quick. The perfect gift for that newborn cutie! The only bummer is it’s primarily for girls so I’m still left searching for a cute boys pattern!
To show how easy this pattern is, this was my first pair I made and I’ve only been crocheting for a few months now. I love how easy it is to customize as well. They can be made with all shapes and colors of buttons and flowers.

For this pair of shoes I’ve matched them with my favorite baby dress, an Itty Bitty Baby Dress. This is definitely my favorite go to baby gift and I’m hoping this little baby loves it as much as I loved making it for her!

That’s right, we are leaving California and moving to Central Oregon! The land of 4 seasons and snow! I have never lived somewhere where there is regular seasons of snow and I am beyond excited. I’m the crazy one that acts like a 5 year old when there is even a slight chance of snow in the forecast.
Come on, don’t tell me I’m the only one that wakes up at the buttcrack of dawn to see if it had snowed the night before.
But for the next few weeks that means I’ll be busy packing! I’ve already had to pack up all my fabric :( I left out my machines and one piece of fabric I’m hoping to make into some cool shorts for Jack, but I now doubt I’ll even have time to get around to that.
I have a couple little porjects I’ve been working on and hope to wrap up before we leave but for now it’s off to packing …

After finishing up the Junebug dress for Natalie I was inspired to try and make a more summery dress for her. I wanted something easy and breezy that she could wear to the park, playdates and would feel good on her in this hot hot heat. That definitely meant a lightweight fabric, no sleeves and bright colors.
I did a keyhole like button closure using this tutorial, again from Craftiness is not Optional. Can you tell I love her style and tutorials!!

I was also able to try out Simplicity’s bias tape maker that I got for my birthday. It was AH-MAZING! I can’t believe all the time I wasted before ironing and ironing and ironing ….
Now we’re off to enjoy the new dress while playing at the park and enjoying this beautiful sunshine while we still can!

I’ve been hoarding this pretty blue flower print fabric. I kept taking it to the fabric store and trying to find a fabric for a trim or just something to go with it, but I couldn’t find anything. Finally when I saw The Junebug Dress sew-along, I knew it would be the perfect dress to showcase the fabric.
Jess does a great job of providing a pattern and walking you through all the steps and I was really pleased with the final dress. My favorite part was her little trick of sewing on both sides of the sleeves elastic for a more ruffled look.

Helps when you have a super cute model too :)
Happy 4th of July!
I was excited to finally try making Natalie a pillowcase dress. It was just as easy as everyone says it is.
Jack’s shirt was my first try at freezer paper stenciling. Unfortunately I didn’t seal the paper enough around some of the edges, but I still loved how it turned out!
This skirt was super easy to make and I loved picking out the perfect button. Natalie was thrilled when she saw the cute hearts on her skirt. Can’t believe it took me this long to get around to making this skirt!
I think I will be making lots of these these summer. Super easy and made out of old t-shirts
